Service Description: Mainstay Housing provides self-contained accommodation for 109 singles and woman-led households who are experiencing problematic substance use and living on a low income. Support includes general counselling, life skills and tenancy support, crisis intervention and prevention, capacity building, peer leadership, and wellness and health promotion. Referrals are made to clinical and specialty services (employment support, homemaking services, addiction counselling) to support recovery. There are some wheelchair accessible units. Mainstay Housing provides shared and self-contained accommodation for 867 singles, couples, and families living on low income with serious mental illness. Support includes general counselling, life skills and tenancy support, crisis intervention and prevention, capacity building, peer leadership, and wellness and health promotion. Referral is made to clinical and specialty services (employment support, homemaking services, addiction counselling). Community and hospital-based mental health organizations refer tenants. There are some wheelchair accessible units and accommodation for deaf or deafened tenants. A portion of our housing services are dedicated to ex-Canadian Military personnel.
