Service Description: Exercise Classes
Free exercise program designed to help seniors stay healthy, safe and strong and promote improved balance, improved strength with prevention of muscle loss, maintenance of strong bones and increased overall independence.
  • no referral necessary
  • program offered 48 weeks per year
  • taught by non-regulated professionals (Occupational Therapist Assistant, Physiotherapist Assistant, or Certified Fitness Instructor)
  • held at multiple community locations

Falls Prevention Classes
Free community falls prevention program focusing on strength, balance, flexibility and endurance in an effort to reduce the risk of falling.
  • no referral necessary
  • program is 12 weeks in length and consists of two exercise classes a week.
  • program is taught by a regulated healthcare professional (Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, RN, RPN or RKin)
  • held at multiple community locations

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: or people under 60 with mobility issues * all eligible members of the public are welcome, do not need to be resident of retirement home but must have own transportation and be able to participate in group settings
